About Zeeland Energy Terminals

Zeeland Energy Terminal is a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) – based LNG terminal planned for the harbor of Vlissingen-Oost, where Quarleshaven is currently being assessed as preferred and secured location.

The project aims to provide reliable access to natural gas and flexible infrastructure supporting Dutch and European energy buyers from 2029.

ZET will consist of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), permanently moored at the quay and connected to the Dutch national gas grid. The FSRU will receive and temporarily store liquefied natural gas (LNG) and regasify it to its warm it to its natural gaseous state before delivery to the gas pipeline infrastructure of the Netherlands.

Zeeland Energy Terminal has been recognized as a project of national interest for the Netherlands due to its contribution to Dutch and European energy security. The project is in phase II of the permit application procedure, coordinated by central authorities. VTTI and Höegh Evi are jointly developing the terminal, with equal owner – and operatorship of the FSRU and terminal, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
