ZET will provide reliable access to natural gas and flexible infrastructure, supporting Dutch and European energy buyers from 2029 onwards.
The Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) will be permanently moored at the quay and connected to the Dutch national gas grid. It will receive, store and regasify liquefied natural gas (LNG) before delivery into the Netherlands’ gas transmission system.
The terminal is designed to support energy security and market flexibility in the Netherlands and wider Europe, with approximately 7.5 bcm per annum of send-out capacity and at least 180,000 cubic metres of LNG storage capacity.
ZET has been recognised as a project of national interest in the Netherlands and is currently in Phase II of the permitting process, coordinated by central authorities. VTTI and Höegh Evi are jointly developing the terminal with equal ownership and operatorship, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and minimising environmental impact.
